1. What do you do for a living?
I work in financial aid.
2. Why did you want to do a boudoir session?
Boudoir pictures had been on my bucket list for awhile. I decided to do the first session for my husband for our anniversary. My second session, I booked for me. I wanted to be able to see myself in a way I don’t normally see myself. I wanted to be able to see the changes (both good and bad) that I had been through over the last five years. My husband had no complaints about a second set of pictures 🙂
3. What made you choose Wallflower?
5 years ago, I Googled Boudoir Studios in both Wichita and Kansas City. I then proceeded to inspect each and every website. Wallflower stood out by far as one I wanted to meet with. The images were absolutely gorgeous. I loved that she had all body types on her website. I scheduled my consult and was sold! I didn’t even bother looking at the other studios I had marked down as a maybe. Christina went over every possible detail from settings to wardrobes (even thought to have scissors handy if you need to cut a white tag out of your black lacy panties). The second time around there was no question, I was going back to Christina. She was every bit as wonderful to work with the second time around. Her attention to detail is fantastic.
4. Were you nervous at all to do your shoot?
The first session I was nervous for the first few shots. But Christina is awesome and made me really comfortable, so the nerves wore off very quickly. The second time around I was not nervous at all. Christina is so personable, she makes you feel so at ease. There was never any awkwardness, we just chatted the entire shoot.
5. What was your favorite part of the experience?
It is hard to narrow it down to just one thing. I would have to say the reveal. While getting my hair and make up done by a professional was fun. And posing for the pictures was a blast (even if my back was sore the next day). The reveal was my favorite part. Being able to see the images that Christina captured and seeing myself that way was amazing. Seeing my images projected on the big screen set to music, it was just the icing on the cake of the entire experience.
6. What would you tell a friend if they were thinking about doing a boudoir session?
OMG…do it! You will not regret it!
7. What was it like to see your photos?
Surreal. I had never seen myself like that before. I think the reveal on the first session I remember saying “I look hot!”. The images really make me feel like under all the layers, there is me and I am amazing. As a bonus, being able to have the app is amazing! Swiping through my photos is an instant mood booster.
8. Was everything what you expected it to be when you first got in touch?
Everything and so much more.
9. Do you see yourself differently after having your session?
I do. I think that is the biggest reason I wanted to do a second session. I wanted that reminder, that even with all the hats I wear, I am underneath all that. Having the session made me feel good about myself in a way that nothing else ever has.
10. Anything else you’d like to throw out there?
If you are thinking about doing a session, but putting it off because you don’t think you body is ready, don’t. Don’t wait to lose those last 10 or 20 pounds. Don’t wait for that ‘perfect’ figure. Between my first session and second, I had a baby (gained about 60 pounds), I lost the weight and gained some back. There is about a 20 pound weight gain between the two sessions. But you know what, I think I love the second set of pictures more than the first. While they are both fabulous and I look awesome in both. My body has changed. It has done amazing things. Focus on that and Christina will take care of the rest.
