I am a high school teacher.
Why did you want to do a boudoir session?
I had actually never thought about doing boudoir photos before. I was actually lingerie shopping online and I read a review on a piece that someone said they wore for a boudoir shoot. I thought “Hmm… that sounds interesting”, so just for kicks, I Googled “Boudoir Photography in Wichita” and that’s how I stumbled upon Boudoir by Wallflower. I never even went to another photographer’s website because as soon as I saw Christina’s portfolio and read all the reviews, I was like “I have to do this!”. I have never really felt very positively about myself my entire life, and those feelings really take a toll on a person. So many of the other reviews I read said that the experience and the photos really helped these women feel better about themselves and have more confidence. I really wanted that for myself, so I thought “Why not give it a try?”. Also, I needed a good birthday gift for my husband.
What made you choose Wallflower?
I chose Wallflower because the second I saw the website, I was hooked. Christina’s photos are absolutely gorgeous, elegant, and sexy. What convinced me the most, though, was the description of Christina that everyone gave in their reviews. I knew if she was like what everyone said she is (she IS!), that I would feel comfortable enough to do a boudoir shoot.
Were you nervous at all to do your shoot?
I was EXTREMELY nervous before going in for my consultation because I didn’t think I could look anything like the gorgeous photographs that I saw. When I met Christina, I was put at ease by her demeanor — she is incredibly kind. After my consultation, I was a lot less nervous than I was before, but still kind of nervous because I had to pose in front of a camera in my lingerie and hey, that takes some guts. As soon as the shoot started, however, the rest of my butterflies were gone. Christina just has this way about her — you know you can trust her and that she really cares about you. She is so reassuring. She constantly tells you how gorgeous you are, and you know she truly means it. She’s just that kind of person.
What was your favorite part of the experience?
I don’t know where to begin! I loved my photo shoot experience. It was so much fun getting my hair and makeup done and feeling like a model for a day! It was really a confidence boost. Christina made everything so easy. She showed me exactly how to pose and was so patient with me. It was so much fun doing something I had never done before and going outside of my normal comfort zone! It’s kind of thrilling putting yourself out there and receiving immediate positive feedback from someone so talented, yet truly cares about you. Seeing all of my photos was pretty darn amazing, too!
What would you tell a friend if they were thinking about doing a boudoir session?
You need to do this for yourself! I know everybody says so in their review, but that’s because it’s true! At first, I was really just looking to create an awesome gift for my husband, but by the end of this experience, it really turned into a gift for myself as well. I plan to do more shoots with Christina in the future (I’m already hooked!) and it’s because I just happened to stumble onto one of the best experiences of my entire life. You will not regret taking the time to let Christina show you how beautiful you are!
What was it like to see your photos?
When I came back to see my photos, I almost couldn’t believe they were me (in a good way)! It was me, but I looked like a gorgeous model instead of my everyday self that I am used to seeing in the mirror. I didn’t want to stop looking at them! Honestly, those were the most beautiful photos that I had ever seen of myself in my entire life! Christina is so talented. I thought “Wow, is this what my husband sees when he looks at me? Maybe I should be less hard on myself, because these are amazing!”.
Was everything what you expected it to be when you first got in touch?
My expectations were exceeded tenfold. From the consultation, to the photo shoot, to my ordering session, everything was beyond perfect! Christina really took the time to personalize my entire experience and make it what I wanted it to be. My only regret is that I didn’t find out about Boudoir by Wallflower sooner!
Do you see yourself differently after having your session?
Absolutely. Before my shoot, I wasn’t a big fan of what I saw in the mirror. I’ve always been really hard on myself for everything. After this experience, I walk with a little more confidence because I am actually starting to feel good about myself. It’s a process, but I am starting to see the woman in those photographs staring back at me in the mirror, and that’s the best feeling.
Anything else you’d like to throw out there?
Christina is literally one of the most amazing people you will ever have the privilege of knowing in your entire life. Not only is she an incredibly talented photographer, but she truly feels like a friend. She is kind, caring, and just so happens to take the most amazing pictures! She is invested in making sure you feel as beautiful by the time you leave as she already knew you were when you first walked in. Christina’s got an incredibly wonderful heart — those are hard to come by these days. Besides her extraordinary talent, let that be what convinces you to do a session with her.
